Thanks for that feedback, Step3. I was testing this feature out. My own initial thought for the feature was that it couldn’t work well, but in fact I have seen it work well for some blogs and even on this blog that feature has helped me initiate contact. I thought it was worth trying since I do write the messages – it’s not a bot, and in that sense is no different than scheduling one’s posts to appear advance in the future. That said, I have been rethinking the feature and if I hear from another similar feelings about it, I might just take it off. Because as you say, there are other ways of achieving contact.

One of the things I’m annoyed with is when blogs send an impersonal personnel message. I left a comment on your blog the other day, and in my email the next morning is a scripted message sent minutes after my submission. I understand your desire to let people know you appreciate their feedback, but an automated message feels more like corporate empathization than real human contact. Things I’ve seen that work well: responding to their comment through email or on your blog, or if they have a blog, making a comment on one of their articles.

Thanks Double, good point. One thing I’m not comfortable with is giving out the numerical details of my investments, but perhaps I can find a way to work more subject matter in on how my cashflow is doing anyway. Or other thoughts on increasing cashflow. Because you’re right, that is my current central concern.

I like the site/layout design because when I get here I know it is the MoneyEnergy site. The world would be boring if we all did things the same.

You have been a web designer longer than me, three months to my one month so I am not able to give you advice.

I would recommend that since one of your goals is to increase cash flow, then maybe you also blog about how your cash flow is doing.
