Announcing the Carnival of Cashflow Consciousness, “Rags to Riches” Edition #1

in Carnival of Cashflow Consciousness

cashflow consciousnessI thought it was about time to do something a bit more creative around here, and, inspired by some of the other great carnivals I’ve been reading, I thought I’d branch out  and start one of my own.  We’ve got carnivals of net worth, general money and finance, taxes and frugality — I thought it would be great to have one focusing on creating cashflow and the ways it makes our lives easier (and the title is also a small nod to Robert Kiyosaki’s inspirational series of books on getting out of the rat race).  This is also one of the themes of my site and my own investment focus.

I’m going to make the first edition theme “Rags to Riches:” an acknowledgement of how far we can get ahead financially if we put our minds to it.  In this respect, I’m looking for articles relating to any aspects of creating, managing, and using our cashflow.  Topics might include:

  • passive income
  • dividend reinvestment
  • how you started thinking cashflow, not networth
  • best books on cashflow
  • what cashflow means to you
  • being financially free
  • getting out of the “rat race” success stories
  • multiple streams of income
  • diversified streams of cashflow
  • scheduling dividend payments
  • royalties
  • how you create your own cashflow

Eligibility and Guidelines

As far as eligibility goes, the usual applies.  The date the article was written doesn’t matter if the article has timeless applicability (otherwise it should be from the last two weeks).  Aside from being published on your own site, though, the article should not be part of any other future or past carnival.  And, as usual, you agree to link back to the carnival within 10 days, either in an article/page of your own, or in a round-up post.

Deadline

Deadline for submissions will be midnight on April 20, 2009.  If there aren’t enough submissions at that point (or if I receive more than enough before that), then I will wait until I get a sufficient number for the launch.  We’re going to start small, though – I’m not expecting 100 articles like the Carnival of Personal Finance just hosted over at ABC’s of Investing.

Submissions

At this point I do not have an official submission form in place, so for now please just email me the link to your article along with the name/Pen Name you wish to use with it, and I’ll do the rest.  I’ll reserve the right to not publish an article if (1) it’s too short (like one paragraph) or has not enough quality, (2) doesn’t seem to fit the general focus of the carnival, or (3) there are too many submissions and I’ll keep it for a future edition, etc.  My email is moneyenergy [AT] hotmail – feel free to send along any other questions and comments, too – or tips on hosting!:)

I’ve got some recent stuff we could use. Let me know if there is anything that you like on the site and we can go with that. Thanks for organizing this!

I was actually thinking of starting a similar carnival around passive income. Glad you are starting one. Let me know if you need any help or are looking for a host.
