First of all I am a forner investor, and I would like to understand more about US taxs, since no one ever clearafid to forners of this US tax that comes due in 2011, I am a lower income person in around 30.000 or so

Could you please tell me if I buy AT&T, today what will appen to the dividends in 2011, will I have to pay a 39.6% in stead of 15%?

I thank you verymuch.

Exactly. Careful with adding to bonds right now, though - they're kind of at a "top" - prices can only really go down from here since interest rates have to rise... I also think the loonie will go a bit higher still when BOC raises rates probably definitely ahead of the U.S.

Great post ME, thanks for taking the suggestion! My plan is to purchase
JNJ soon for my RRSP. I've been wanting it for some time and I think it will be a great fit in my portfolio with my Canadian ETFs: XIU and XBB; providing some US diversifcation. You gotta love our CDN dollar right now! Hurts our manufacturing sector but great for small investors like ourselves, to purchase US stocks like the ones you've identified above.
