Well, maybe we are getting close to 10% unemployment in the US as I suggested in a previous post. The most recent numbers indicate that unemployment levels in the US have reached 7.5%. Yes, that’s right. Quite amazing. It was led by Caterpillar, but also retailers like Home Depot. Kevin O’Leary estimates that this means we might be heading towards 10% unemployment in the U.S. Yikes!

Here’s one way to track the growth of the recession, including hopefully when it will be over. Keep in mind that “earnings trail the market” and that layoffs tend to happen in the final down-turn of an economy.
